Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Development Communications, Mass Communications, Sociology, or other relevant social science courses

Training

Eight (8) hours  of relevant training preferably  in the areas relative to DRRM along with report development and report writing and other relevant and related training.

Experience

:

At least two (2) years of relevant experience along with generation and preparation of disaster-related reports, knowledge and relevant experiences in the implementation of DRRM programs, projects and activities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Development Officer (PDO) III (Report Writer) is primarily responsible to ensure that DCC fully complies with its mandated functions and responsibilities in the monitoring all incidents occurred being reported by the Field Office counterpart and identifies reports coming in if it is disaster preparedness, response and early recovery related or not. S/He is responsible  in DCCs compliance to its reportorial requirements for the entire Department in monitored incident and disaster information dissemination and management - particularly in bringing out complete staff work in the accomplishment of its required tasks. S/He is likewise responsible and accountable in the collection, consolidation, and preparation for dissemination of updated reports on all of DCCs monitored incidents and Disaster Response Activities : from its Disaster Preparedness for Response; Disaster Response Management; Early Recovery and Rehabilitation; and Disaster Response Management; Early Recovery and Rehabilitation; and Disaster Resiliency programs, projects and activities (PPAs).

Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and coordinate incident and disaster related activities to Field Offices and other concern agencies;

  2. Closely collaborate with other DROMIC staff to ensure coordinated efforts and complete staff work;

  3. Monitor, review, identify, consolidate, and prepare DCC Reports base on received and monitored incident  and disaster related reports;

  4. Craft and develop monitoring tools, forms, templates that can be used  for gathering DRRM reports and updates relative to FOs programs and projects implementation;

  5. Coordinate with different FOs for updates  and reportorial requirements relative to FOs incident monitored during the tour of duty;

  6. Monitor information via radio, television, social media, and other media channel sources;

  7. Preparation of PPT for DCC and management use;

  8. Receive ad attend to phone calls queries;

  9. Validate all information/report gathered by duty personnel in all forms of media;

  10. Undertake additional duties or other DCC-related works as required that may be assigned from time to time by higher authorities.

Job Outputs:


  1. Timely-released and up-to-date DCC Reports and updates on monitored and received incident and Disaster Response Activities: from its Disaster preparedness for Response; Disaster Response Management; Early Recovery and Rehabilitation; Disaster Risk  Resiliency programs, projects and activities (PPAs).

  2. Dissemination of consolidated and updated reports to DSWD ManCom and Execom and other report Users. And;

  3. Other reports as may be required.
