PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY-BASED)

Education          :  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Experience        :  At least two (2) year of relevant experience in infrastructure projects, engineering designs and civil works

Training             :  At least eight (8) hours of relevant training

Eligibility            :  RA 1080 (Engineer)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision and direction from the Division Chief, the Engineer II will prepare and design detailed plans and other necessary documents relative to infrastructures. Oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations, and ensure the department's facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the department's operation.

PRIMARY TASKS

1.     Prepare and design detailed plans and other necessary documents relative to infrastructure project, building maintenance and repair works;

2.     Prepare complete detailed engineering design, project proposal, detailed estimates, technical specification, PERT/CPM/S-Curve and other documents necessary for bidding requirement and implementation of civil works project. The design will be in accordance with the latest Philippine Building Codes, Environmental Requirements and Accessibility Law

3.     Assist the department in filing the required documents to secure approval of government authorities having jurisdiction over the design of the project particularly Environmental Compliance Certificate, Zoning permit, Right of Way, etc.

4.     Conduct site inspection during implementation and make sure that the contractor's works are in accordance with the approved plans and specification;

5.     Review and recommend to the Department the contractor's request for payment, time extension, and variation orders whenever applicable;

6.     Recommend final completion and acceptance of the project and prepare ertificate of completion;

7.     Assist the Head of the Building and Grounds Management Division in the implementation of infrastructure projects, building maintenance and repair works;

8.     Assist in the development/enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, guidelines, systems and processes relative to building maintenance, repair/rehabilitation and construction or infrastructure projects, among others; and

9.     Undertake other tasks that may be assigned from time to time that is related to BGMD functions.

3.     Engineering designs/plans/layouts

4.     Other reports as may be required
