Job Description

 

SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICER III

Employment Status: Contract of Service

Salary Grade: SG 18

Assignment: Adoption Resource and Referral Section (ARRS)


Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work

Training: 8 hours of relevant training

Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience 

Eligibility: RA 1080 (RSW)


Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.   Develop a monitoring tool at the Regional Level to be used in the regular monitoring of adoption cases handled by residential care facilities managed by DSWD, LGUs, and CCAs / CPAs.

2.   Monitor the turn-around time of the issuance of certification and determine the existence of children legally available for adoption.

3.   Provide technical assistance to DSWD Residential care facilities, LGUs and Child Placement Agencies (CPA) in the implementation of the domestic adoption program.

4.   Monitor and follow-up completion of adoption of the child through ICAB.

5.   Supervise, monitor and provide technical assistance to LGUs and CPAs on the compliance to the standards/requirements/policies set forth by the ICAB on inter-country adoption concerns.

6.   Review and evaluate adoption program and endorse recommendations to Social Technology Unit as basis for development of new strategies / technologies / enhancement of existing policies.

7.   Conduct regular nationwide information and educational campaigns on domestic adoption.

8.   Maintains databank of cases being monitored.

9.   Serves as secretariat of the Regional Child Welfare Specialist Group.

10. Perform other functions as maybe defined by the Head of Office in relation to the implementation of RA 9523.
