JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction and with substantial latitude for the exercise of independent judgement, engaged in varied and special work pertaining to disaster and climate change risk resiliency and performs very challenging, urgent and important work involving provision of technical assistance and resource augmentation support, requiring minimum training and considerable experience and knowledge.

PRIMARY TASKS

1. Manages the implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (CCAM) Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs);

2.  Develops new PPAs on DRRM and CCAM addressing the evolving needs of vulnerable sectors at risk;

3. Formulates, review and enhance guidelines responsive to the developing needs of the disaster and climate-change vulnerable population;

4.  Prepares and analyse comprehensive reports on the implementation of DRRM and CCAM PPAs;

5.  Formulates Work and Financial Plan (WFP) for the implementation of DRRM and CCAM PPAs;

6.  Provides technical assistance and resource augmentation to the DSWD Field Offices (FOs), other government agencies, partners and intermediaries on the implementation of DRRM and CCAM PPAs;

7.  Provides policy and operational recommendations on evolving and recurring issues and areas of concerns in the project management;

8.  Establishes partnerships with other government agencies, partners and intermediaries for complementation in the implementation of DRRM and CCAM PPAs;

9.  Attends meetings, workshop, capacity building activities and among others;

10. Undertakes project implementation review and impact assessment to assess the appropriateness and sustainability of DRRM and CCAM PPAs; and

11.  Perform other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor. 

Job Outputs:

1.     Memoranda and other office communications;

2.     Periodic consolidated and comprehensive reports with analysis;

3.     Feedback/monitoring reports;

4.     Guidelines and/or inputs to policy papers;

5.     Work and Financial Plans (WFP);

6.     TARA plans and accomplishments;

7.     Cooperation/Partnership Agreement; and,

8.     Reports on project implementation review and impact assessment.
