INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER I

Place of Assignment: NHTO IT Division – Resource Management Section

CSC PRESCRIBED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education: Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job

Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience

Training: Eight (8) hours relevant training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education         :  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Technology Management or Mathematics

Experience       :  Two (2) years of relevant experience as an Information Technology staff

Training            :  Eight (8) hours of training preferably about any of the following:

-       Operating System: Windows, Linux or Ubuntu Administration

-       Computer Assembly and Repair/ Basic Troubleshooting

-       Network Management and Application Deployment

-       Database Technologies: MySQL, MSSQL/ SQL Server, SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle

-       Programming Languages: Java, PHP, Javascript, Python

-       IT Project Management, ICT Governance

-       Software Testing or Software Quality Assurance

JOB DESCRIPTION

Development, management and maintenance of the Listahanan database; IT documentation; provision of technical assistance related to IT.

Functions and Responsibilities

1.  Designs and documents database architecture for the Listahanan;

2.  Executes proper change, backup and security management of the databases managed by the Listahanan;

3.  Generates data for project;

4. Monitors and resolves escalated issues related to resource management, quality management, security management, data processing, and systems development;

5. Ensures all data mining and generated reports yields correct interpretation of the data stored in the database;

6.  Provides technical assistance and support for IT users at Central and Field Offices;

7.  Performs other tasks and functions as may be specified by the IT Division Chief or the Director.
